Mendocino Scouting

Last weekend Eileen and I went to Mendocino to do some scouting for the April Workshop at the Brewery Gulch Inn. It was a wonderful weekend starting with a rare snow Friday night. We drove up early Saturday morning and I started shooting before we got to Boonville – the snow on the shadow side of the valley was spectacular. I experimented with three different cameras throughout the weekend. The first six images in this post are shot with the 21.1 megapixel Canon 5D Mark II, the next three are shot with the Canon PowerShot S90 10 megapixel point and shoot, and the last one is shot with a 5 megapixel iPhone 4. Each camera has it’s strengths and weaknesses – they were all fun to use!

Nice stuff, Jay. I have to add that a few of these shots were captured using the photographer’s most important tool — the u-turn!

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful……..

Thanks John – wish you were able to make it!

I’m getting better at using that tool but it does take some practice!
